To export Bahamian music to the world, by highlighting the 'Top Songs and Artist' in the country, while fostering collaboration with international musicians
and recognizing the international quality standard in music.

To serve as a platform designed to showcase Bahamian Musicians. To see the indigenous sound of Bahamians music as a recognized genre of music in a global level.

To create an annual event that showcases and recognizes Bahamian artists, and the new generation of musicians, while displaying "The Culture of the Bahamas". To expand the music industry, educate and develop through workshops.

Junkanoo music is the indigenous music of the Bahamas, which infectious sound consist of cowbells, goat skin drums, brass, horns and whistles.

Fusion is a new form of music created by Bahamian artists at the former Music Masters BJC which is the result of joining two or more genres of music together to form a single entity while the base or predominant genre is the indigenous form of Bahamian music: Goombay, Junkanoo and/or Rake & Scrape.

Female/Male vocalist of the year is the vocalist capable to vocalize musical sounds with tone and pitch while creating music with his or her voice in an outstanding way.
In this category, all vocalist referral by the Music Committee and submission entries will be put out for public to vote, TOP four Vocalist will then become nominees. These nominees will be required to showcase their talent live to the judges for a proper assessment of Technic, Pitch and Tone to obtain a sound judging and selection of our Female and Male Vocalist Award recipient of the year.

Urban contemporary is a music radio format which describes the overall content broadcast on a radio station.
This includes genres such as Hip Hop, R&B, Pop-Rap, UK Rap, Grime, UK garage and Drum and Bass, and Caribbean music such as Reggae, Dancehall, Reggaeton, Zouk, and Soca.
Once any of the above mentioned genres are created by the producer the same will fall under the Urban Contemporary Category.

Rake and Scrape is an indigenous sound of the Bahamas originated from Goombay music, which typical instruments are the guitar, drums, accordion and hand saw.
To comply with this genre, the instruments mention above should be in you material working in harmony while creating the signature sound of Rake and Scrape.
